May 16, 2018 - Twice a year, White Sands Missile Range allows visitors to tour the Trinity Test Site where the United States conducted the first ever detonation of a nuclear weapon in 1945 as part of the Manhattan Project. Last month, as I stood in the middle of the Jornada del Muerto Desert about 35 miles southeast of Socorro, New Mexico, my thoughts turned to my parents, my recent service in the Trump Administration, and the present debate over imposing tariffs on China.
