Audit All Aid to China. Then END It.
If the United States had a teenage son living in its basement, it would be Communist China. Outwardly, our basement dweller casts the image of a challenged, almost tortured being, whose success might be guaranteed if we only buy it another used car. In reality, China is sitting down there watching our every move, counting the days until we die so he can finally claim his inheritance, taking every opportunity to get whatever he can in between and occasionally coming up to the kitchen to microwave a Hot Pocket.
If the Coronavirus crisis has any silver lining, it’s the wake-up call the American people needed to realize the full scale of abuse the globalist Washington elites have allowed China to inflict on us for decades.
Face masks, ventilators, and other medical equipment that were sent to China for free as foreign aid are now being repaid in promises to “manufacture” and sell the same items back to the same countries who donated them and now have shortages as a result of their charity.
China’s failure to initially address the Coronavirus has resulted in the most destructive healthcare crisis anybody alive has ever seen, and the likelihood of a deep recession or even depression. And against that backdrop, the Chinese Communist Party is trying to use the Coronavirus to achieve every possible benefit on the international stage. It’s time to re-examine our relationship with Communist China and suspend our supine support of a dictatorship with open designs to dominate the world.
For decades, American tax dollars fuelled China’s economic rise in the form of foreign aid. We led the effort to normalize relations between China and the West, then supported dramatic increases in trade that left us dependent on China for fuel, food, pharmaceuticals, and medical manufacturing. No more!
The first step to cutting off U.S. foreign aid to our nation’s most dangerous competitor is an immediate audit of all federal agencies and departments for expenditures bolstering Communist China and its state-owned enterprises operating in the U.S.
Ever since Nixon’s “Opening of China,” the U.S. has lavished all sorts of knowledge upon the supposedly weak Chinese Communist Party: Labor Department consultants for business productivity, banking experts from the Treasury Department, and all sorts of scientific assistance, including aircraft and even military manufacturing know-how.
We’ve got to stop giving away the store! Every year from now on, the federal government should complete an annual report detailing all its assistance to China. We’ve got to know how much we’re giving them and where it's coming from if we hope to cut China off the federal dole. Right now, we don’t even know.
Michael Pillsbury, the leading authority on China according to President Trump, notes in his book The Hundred-Year Marathon that such an audit will:
1- Equip those seeking a more skeptical approach to our relations with Communist China with more information against the globalist establishment elite that wants to continue America’s economic stimulus for China indefinitely,
2- Give policymakers and negotiators “a better sense of what leverage we have to influence Beijing’s behavior,” and,
3- Help Americans counter Chinese propaganda demonizing America, especially the false oppression narrative found in Chinese history textbooks.
Better late than never!
